Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa takes promotes trade in Tourism Industry

A representative Korean delegation has arrived in Pakistan to warm reception by the high officials of TCKP at the Islamabad Airport.

The delegation shows great interest in the Budhist relics of the Gandhara Civilization found in the area; will make a detailed tour of Taxila and various other areas in the KP.
Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa takes comprehensive measures to promote tourism and to give a spur to commercial and economic activities in the province. With a view to promoting the rich archeological heritage of the province, a representative delegation from Korea, that had been invited to visit the relics and monuments belonging to the Gandhara Civilization, has reached Pakistan.
The delegation, comprising of prominent Budhist scholars, tourism writers and tour operators from Korea, was welcomed by the high officials of TCKP at the Benazir International Airport Islamabad. The delegations is visiting Pakistan, especially Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as part of the Gandhara Peace Tours Advance Party Program that is intended to pave the way for future high profile visits from Korea and other countries to the archeological sites of the province.
The Korean delegation, after visiting Budhist relics in Taxila today, will make exclusive visits to Peshawar, Takht-i-bahi, Chota Lahore (near Sawabi) tomorrow. In this connection.
The Provincial Minister for Toursim and Sports Syed Aqil Shah and provincial secretary Tourism Syed Jamal-ud-din Shah told that the purpose of the Gandhara Peace Tours Advance Party Program is to promote the soft image of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and to promote trade and tourism activities in the province so that the economy of the province is strengthened and the province is brought back to the international mainstream as one of the leading tourist destinations.
The members of the Korean delegation, while thanking the officials of the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, showed profound interest in the relics of the Gandhara Civilization and stated that Pakistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are the center of traditions and civilizations that are thousands of years’ old.
The delegation added that the Korean people have not only spiritual attachment to these relics but they are also interested in making considerable investments in the preservation of these relics and also in the industry and trade so that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which is the guardian of the great Gandhara Civilization, makes economic progress.
